Is life a race?
Success
is relative. Everyone has their definition of success. Unfortunately, the parameters
cause almost all people compete to achieve it. Sometimes, they forget about the
purpose of their life just because of the influence of their society.
Therefore, it is common to see that people do everything to reach their
success.
People
compete to be the best. Everyone wants to be the first by achieving everything
as fast as possible. It makes life look like a race. Focusing on our success is
right. Unfortunately, creating life like a race to be successful is not good
because it can make us depressed. We must realize that life is not a matter of
who touches the finish line first, who gets the achievement the most, or any
other things that make it like a race.
Behind
the success shown by everyone, there is a process that must be passed by all
people. The central point lies in the process of achieving something. People
tend to show the result than the process because the process is never easy.
Every process we pass contains pain, tears, happiness, and a complicated
feeling. However, in the end, it becomes a life experience that makes people
better than before. Besides, people can explore their potential, so they know
more about themselves. Within the process, the value of life arises. Success is
just a bonus for people who can pass the process. Therefore, we cannot
generalize all processes and successes.
Every
people have different stories in passing the process to achieve their goals.
Some might be in a hurry to get everything done. On the other hand, there is
also that realizes they should take it slowly. However, there are certainly a
lot of obstacles before we find the result. And, not all people can pass it
easily. But, this is real life, a journey of dealing with the process in each
step of our life. It is not a race to compete with each other. The world
requires us to keep moving forward. There is even a saying, "The early
bird gets the worm," which confirms that we must move forward, not slow
down. But, often we forget, to move forward, it does not only have to run.
Sometimes, walking can also move forward, not even faster than running. As long
as we are moving, it has shown progress in our life, no matter it is fast or
slow. Your life is not a running race. The path of one to another is different,
also the finish line.
